However, between 82.8% and 84% there were at least another 101 entries that would comfortably sit alongside as equals - so we have added a link to our website to recognise a further 101 amazing landscape photographs (the Top 202+). In this our ninth year, we received 3813 entries and the threshold for inclusion in the book (a Top 101 entry) was a score of 84.2%. (The above graph has been updated with the correct scoring ranges, which indicate the bottom of the range, not the top as in the earlier graph emailed to entrants.) International Landscape Photographer of the Year Awards Goldstein, Kaye Davis, Tim Parkin and last year's winner, Aytek Çetin. Thank you to our judging team: David Burnett, Jim M. I think David has elegantly expressed what we all see and feel. My admiration for my fellow photographers only grows each year I help judge these awards." The wet, the cold and long strenuous hikes to find a perfect location - all this is buried inside the heart of these pictures. "It’s been a pleasure to immerse myself in these pictures and it's a constant reminder what kind of dedication our entrants bring to the act of photographing. "The bottom line is that no one can appreciate your work as much as you and those close to you, so celebrate the images that you love. As judges, we all have our favourites which in the end others might not appreciate as much as we do, so I think it is important to say that even if your picture didn’t score an 84 or higher, any picture you have taken the trouble to enter obviously has great personal meaning, so no matter the score, why not treat yourself to printing a large, decorative size print and hang it somewhere you can see and share it every day? "When judging photographs, we always run a difficult knife edge between simplicity and complexity, but more than anything this year, the pictures seemed to reflect a very intense personal response by the photographers to their subject and its treatment. One of our judges, David Burnett always reflects at the end of the judging with a little note. We intentionally keep the core of our judging panel constant from year to year because we believe this gives our regular entrants a better experience, allowing them to gauge their progress. We're constantly amazed at the lengths photographers go to, whether physically in the landscape or creatively in post-production. And after the judging has finished, we like nothing more than to scroll through not only the winning photographs, but all of them. We love putting the International Landscape Photographer of the Year Awards together. To see the flipbook with the Top 101 entries, see the bottom of this article. The 2023 Awards will open on 1 September 2023 and entries will close 31 October 2023.
